Weekly Bulletin 10th May, 2018

Dear FA Cup Finalists

1. BYE BYE JIM,  WE LOVE YOU
It has been my absolute pleasure to volunteer alongside local hero Jim Smith, who has recently retired as Chairman of Hinksey Park FC as announced at the recent AGM. His herculean behind the scenes endeavours have bequeathed us a clubhouse and a stable club set up that has doubled in size in the last 6 years. Jim has been a loveable grump, who is an understated man of action, with 20/20 judgement and utter commitment to children playing football in a friendly, welcoming way, without that tinge of win at all costs that some other clubs reek of. We just love our children to play the glorious game in the right spirit. His values are stamped on the club, and this is his legacy.  Please personally thank him at the Summer Party.  I miss you already pal.

2. HELLO ANNA, WE LOVE YOU TOO
And put your hands together for Anna Brewer who is the new Chairperson of Hinksey Park FC. There is no grumpiness with Anna, she is a class act and will bring an air of sleek polished organisation to the club. Plus, unlike Jim she smiles all the time. But Anna and I both need help as there are lots of small jobs that need sorting out with a club this size. So meet Anna at the Summer Party on 23 June and see if you can help her out.

3. *FREE CUP FA CUP FINAL TICKETS*

4. ON THE FIELD SUCCESS
The U14 Lionnesses have retained their League title and are going for the double at the weekend, well done to Darren and Martin there. And furthermore, the U9 Scorpions outgunned the Stingrays in a close fought derby to secure a Cup win. See the picture below. They are better than Liverpool. Hope I havent missed anyone elase who has won something??

6. DO YOU LIVE IN FLORENCE PARK?
Not footy related, but.....You’re invited to become a shareholder of Flo’s- The Place in the Park!
Flo’s is a community run and owned hub in the Florence Park area in East Oxford. Once open, Flo’s will offer a nature nursery, community café, community drop in space and midwifery service for local families- this will meet a crucial need in the area following the closure of the Florence Park children's centre in 2017.
The organising group behind Flo's are looking for shareholders to invest in the project to raise initial funds for essential refurbishment work and to provide working capital while the community enterprises come into full utilisation. Shares start from £250 (or £100 if you live in OX4) and offer a potential return on investment of 2% p.a. Take a look: https://www.flosoxford.org.uk/community-share-offer/
